Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Our wonderful room parents put on a spectacular party last Friday.  Students celebrated by creating Valentine cards for family expressing their love and appreciation for them.  The photo booth was a huge hit! All in all, we valued our time together and are thankful for the hard work that was attributed to this fun event.

Storyteller Michael Katz

A storyteller since 1984, Michael Katz, brought the WOW factor to Laguna Blanca North last week.  The Los Angeles Times describes Katz as a “…versatile performer and wonderful storyteller.” Fourth graders started the week with him in the classroom where he shared his passion for storytelling.  He encouraged students to be uninhibited with their growing storytelling abilities and to create a simple outline in their minds. He later dazzled us with his on stage performance!  A big THANK YOU goes out to Mrs. Brace for organizing this event.

Girls Inc. Welcomes Laguna Blanca

Girls Inc. has graciously welcomed Laguna Blanca and provided support as we transitioned from our Lower School campus two weeks ago. As the week draws to a close, we are reminded of several things:

~ Being together as a Laguna Blanca community is paramount.

~ Tenacious spirits drive us.

~ Learning can happen anywhere.

~ Grateful hearts are game changers.

Making our classroom feel comfortable and cozy is a goal of ours as we continue to focus on a Growth Mindset.

Maintaining a positive attitude makes learning more enjoyable!

Collaborative writing can happen ANYWHERE!  All you need is a vivid imagination and a helpful partner.

Being together and learning is a recipe for SUCCESS!
